When you just won't give me reasons
I was painting our dining room this weekend. By the way, we have officially painted all of the rooms in the house twice since we moved in two years ago. Anyway, I turned on some music to brush to. On an eighties station came a song that triggered such vivid memories, as most do. But this one I can honestly say I hadn't heard since then. It reminded my of one of my best friends in high school, John Danley (do you know him?) who was always on the cutting edge of technology. He was the first I knew to have the Synsonic drum machine, the Yamaha keyboard and he had, hold on tight, a CD player in his car; granted, he installed himself so there were always wiring issues. With this, he also had the largest collection of CDs. While I started slowly with artist I felt would endure the test of time and be 'classics' (boy was I wrong on some of those), he would by them left and right having only heard one trendy song, ranging from Al B. Sure to Yaz, some of them I had never even heard of. We would cruise for hours in his car watching his Alpine suck up and spit out these discs with no goal in mind and cleansing the palette when needed with a little Depeche Mode or Inxs. Those were the days.

You will have to email me if you really want to know the trigger song.
