Come on, what's the real reason?
I can't stand when I take the time to ask a legitimate question of someone and I get a smart-ass answer. For example, I asked an IT guy at work why companies sell external hard drives for more than 4x that of internal. I was truly hoping for some insight. His reply, "because they can." While some of you, and you know who you are, feel this is an acceptable answer (and if you do, please think twice before answering my questions), this doesn't cut it for me. He might as well have answered it with "well, one is on the outside, and the other is on the inside." Obviously there is something technically different.

This is right up there with people at work (TW) who think it's funny and original to answer the phone saying the person's name who appears on the caller ID, "Thank you for calling [insert caller's name here], can I help you?"
