Must See
In an age when computer generated images have become a staple in films since it has gotten pretty darn good looking, you can't be surprised to see anything in a movie, since anything is possible in kilobytes. I found a film that, if you didn't know better, you would assume is 75% CGI. But in fact there are no special effects used. Remember when you first saw the Matrix and the handful of fx scenes were groundbreaking? Now imagine a movie where almost every shot gives you that surge of eye candy. Last night, my daughter and I saw Winged Migration. This certainly will be my favorite film of the year. I almost can't even find words to describe. The film took 4 years to film as the cameras follow dozens of species throughout the migration process. Sounds trivial? Well the cameras literally soar next to the flying birds. Not only did I not hesitate to plop down $8 to see this one with no regrets, I would pay just as much to watch a documentary of how they made this timeless film for all ages. Don't miss an opportunity to catch a glimpse of nature in a way that man was never meant to see it.
