May I have your attention in the center, ahem, I mean, the only ring
This weekend we took our daughter to the CIRCUS. Not the usual Barnum & Bailey stuff, but a semi-local one ring circus. It was set up in a fairly large red and white striped air conditioned tent. They had about a dozen acts ranging from the dog act to the high wire, all of which were most impressive. I couldn't help but feel like a complete tub of goo seeing a completely six-packed-shirtless acrobat single handedly climb a rope 50ft into the air then hold his body completely horizontal.
My memories of going to the circus include the time I ran up to the front row to watch a parade go around the ring and as I turned my head to the right to watch the procession, a giant brown bear picked me up and carried me off. Well actually it was a guy in a costume, but at the time it might as well have been real. The other memory I have is every time we went I would eat so much crap I always felt like I was going to throw up.
So we didn't get too close to the ring, but we did eat a hot dog, slushie, soda, burrito, popcorn & frozen custard (these two alternating bites). Let's just say about 3/4 the way through the performance, a little voice says to me "my tummy hurts". I smiled knowing this was inevitable recalling my childhood experiencing, then I just feared that we would have to wipe chunky bile off of spectators. Lets just say that for the last couple acts, we were walking the high wire.
