Observation:
The farther you drive from the metro area, the larger the marketing props get for local businesses.
Thus, this would explain the 2 giant pink elephants, 1 giant buffalo, 1 giant horse and the 2 story bowling pin we saw on the way to Farmington (see also farming town). I don't know why, but whenever I see pink elephants, I wanna buy a used pick-up.
