Taking reservations
Well, after at least a month of exhaustive research, we finally broke down and bought THIS. And THIS is great! I was hoping to find a nice used one but these seem to be heirlooms amongst friends and family and I know nobody close enough with one. Let me outline what I found out to save you some time in the future:
1. Adams invented this so they have constantly been evolving with improvements.
2. Trek makes a comparable model
3. There was a rash of cheaper knockoffs sold in the 90s that were eventually recalled due to a faulty clamp, leading to trailer to become unicycle (not good).
4. It is much easier to make progress on a ride with purpose with one of these.
I came to find that all retailers were charging the same price, which was the MSRP. I was delighted when I found REI was offering it for $40 off as part of its 65th anniversary. So I jumped. Which led to all three of us riding for almost an hour tonight. Needless to say, I am expecting all of my with-child friends and some of my hopefully-with-child friends to put in their dibs on this one. It will only take a few $ down. Just remember that it holds up to 85lbs, so it may be a while.
PS. The REI sale ends on 5/26 and is also valid online (although I don't recommend considering shipping).
